Jean François, the automaton man

Jean François Lebeault was born in 1968 in Montreuil city. When he was 18, he obtained his micro mecanical licence in Marseille, then the last year he was hired  by  the first automaton manufacturer. Few years later, he decided going in Paris for needed practical expérience. He arrived in the capital only with bag and  enthusiastically like as 20 years old.
 
In 1993 he was lucky when he was hired by DECAMPS a big company specialized in automaton sign a contract with Falaise museum in Normandie. Consequently, it was the beginning of his career. He met Colette DECAMPS, her husband Georges BELLANCOURT and some practiced automaton workers who he collaborated  every days and who hand down knowledges with some secrets about automaton’s restoration.

His  passion for automaton

He was like an automaton man, he worked all days to restore different kind of automatons, sometimes with big moving scene or with the most prestigious automatons for collectors all over the world.
His collaboration with DECAMPS finished when the company closedown.

Few years afterward, Jean-François Lebeault and miss DECAMPS BELLANCOURT met again and naturally they wanted to keep on working together on their passion for automaton. Over the years the ex employee and employer striked up a friendship.

Restorer for ever

For twenty years, Jean-François Lebeault is restoring all kind of automatons for collectors all over the world, he can already use when he need, spare parts DECAMPS or Miss DECAMPS BELLANCOURT’s peerless know-ho.
